The Board of Nursing approves Botox for family, acute care and adult nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), and the procedure must be listed in their collaborative agreement with a physician.
Under a joint Medical Board and Board of Nursing policy, a nurse practitioner may give Botox only if their training is documented and the collaborating physician has examined the patient.
An advanced practice nurse may not delegate Botox to nurses or aestheticians.
