What is SEV Laser (Sev Skin)?
SEV Laser rebranded as Sev Skin in 2026.
The company says Sevana Petrosian founded it in 2010 as a small laser hair removal practice inside a hair salon, and that the new name reflects "a broader vision for aesthetic care."
Laser hair removal is the service its published prices, membership offer and free-first-treatment promotion all describe.
The company says its treatments are performed by nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed estheticians and laser specialists using FDA-cleared technologies.
Sev Skin says it has more than 70 studios across the United States.
Its own pricing-page location selector listed 77 studios in 15 states when we read it on October 16, 2026.
The company rebranded from SEV Laser to Sev Skin in 2026, and its own site still answers at sevlaser.com. Both names refer to the same chain.
Where are SEV Laser locations?
Sev Skin says it has more than 70 US studios, and its own location selector listed 77 studios in 15 states on October 16, 2026.
California had 28 of the 77.
| State | Studios |
|---|---|
| California | 28 |
| Texas | 7 |
| New York | 6 |
| Ohio | 5 |
| Washington | 5 |
| Georgia | 4 |
| Pennsylvania | 4 |
| Virginia | 4 |
| Florida | 3 |
| Massachusetts | 3 |
| Minnesota | 3 |
| Illinois | 2 |
| Arizona | 1 |
| Maryland | 1 |
| Nevada | 1 |
That table is our tally of the studio selector on Sev's own pricing page, read October 16, 2026.
Studios open and close, so treat the chain's own selector as the live list and our count as a snapshot.
How much does SEV Laser charge?
Sev Skin prices laser hair removal two ways: a single session or a monthly membership.
Its published starting points (read October 2026) are $29 for a single session and $15 a month for a membership.
Those are starting prices, not a price list.
The chain says pricing varies by treatment, area and location, and it does not publish a per-area price table that we could verify — so the number that matters is the quote your studio gives you for the area you want treated.
Sev Skin also advertises a free first treatment on select areas for clients who are new to a service.
Ask the studio which areas the offer covers and what "new to a service" means there before you book.
Does SEV Laser have a membership, and is it worth it?
Sev Skin advertises laser hair removal memberships starting at $15 a month.
What we could not confirm from its published pages is the fine print: the commitment length, what a membership includes, whether unused sessions roll over, and how cancellation works.
Ask for the written terms before you sign up.
Two other laser chains structure the money differently.
Milan Laser says it does not publish package prices online and gives personalized quotes instead, and it includes what it calls an "Unlimited Package" with every body area purchased — unlimited treatments for life on that area at no additional cost, in Milan's words.
Milan says most clients need 7 to 10 treatments to be "up to 95% hair free." LaserAway sells single sessions or packages of 3, 8 or 10 treatments, listed at $99–$649 per treatment by area, and it says prices may vary by location.
On "worth it": that depends on your quote, the area and how your hair and skin respond, and no one can promise a result.
What you can compare is structure.
Sev's offer is monthly; Milan's is a one-time package per area with repeat visits built in; LaserAway's is a bundle of sessions.
Price the whole plan — every session the option covers, and what happens when it runs out — not one session, and read the cancellation terms: there is currently no FTC click-to-cancel rule, because the FTC's 2024 rule was vacated by a federal appeals court in July 2025, so your contract, state auto-renewal laws and case-by-case FTC Act enforcement are what apply.
Hair-removal lasers are 510(k)-cleared devices whose cleared claim is permanent hair reduction — fewer hairs regrowing over the long term — not the removal of all hair. No package or membership can promise more than the device's cleared claim.
What do SEV Laser reviews say?
We don't publish star ratings, and we could not verify a Sev Skin aggregate rating from a source we could check, so you won't find one here.
What is verifiable is the rulebook reviews now play under.
The FTC's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465), announced in August 2024 and effective October 21, 2024, bans fake reviews, paying or giving incentives for reviews that express a particular sentiment, undisclosed insider reviews, company-controlled "independent" review sites, and suppressing negative reviews through threats or by hiding reviews based on rating.
The FTC can seek civil penalties against knowing violators.
When you read reviews for the studio you would actually visit, the useful checks are specific: how recent the reviews are, whether reviewers name the person who treated them, and how the studio responds when something goes wrong.
Ask the studio for the total monthly membership cost and what it renews at — in writing.
Is SEV Laser legit? Who performs treatments there?
The chain's own description of its staffing: every treatment is performed by trained nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed estheticians and laser specialists, using FDA-cleared technologies.
That is Sev Skin's claim, and it is checkable — you can look up a nurse's license in Nursys QuickConfirm, the national nurse licensure database run by NCSBN, and check a physician's certification through ABMS member boards at CertificationMatters.org.
What Sev Skin says
- Treatments by nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed estheticians and laser specialists
- FDA-cleared technologies
How you can check
- Nurse licenses: Nursys QuickConfirm
- Physician certification: CertificationMatters.org
- Who may perform your treatment: your state's rules
The staffing list also raises the question the chain's marketing cannot answer for you: whether an esthetician or a "laser specialist" may perform your treatment depends on your state's rules.
For injectable prescription drugs, AmSpa's position is that injecting a toxin is the practice of medicine, to be done by a physician, an independent-practice NP or another licensed professional acting within their scope, under rules that vary by state.
AmSpa also describes the "good faith exam": before a first treatment, a physician, PA or advanced practice nurse takes a medical history, does an appropriate exam and creates the treatment order.
On enforcement: our one combined check of FTC and state attorney-general actions (October 16, 2026) found none against six large chains — Ideal Image, LaserAway, Milan Laser, Restore Hyper Wellness, SkinSpirit and VIO Med Spa.
It was a single search, not an exhaustive one, and it did not cover Sev Skin, so it cannot tell you anything about Sev either way.
Sev Skin's site says its devices are "FDA-cleared" — cleared, not approved. The two are different, and the chain's own wording is the accurate one to repeat.
SEV Laser vs similar chains and independent med spas near you
Three multi-state laser chains publish very different amounts about their money.
Each figure below is that chain's own, on the date shown — they are not like-for-like quotes.
| Chain | Its own size claim | Published laser hair removal price | Payment structure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sev Skin (formerly SEV Laser) | 70+ studios; its selector listed 77 in 15 states (2026-10-16) | Single sessions from $29; memberships from $15/month; varies by treatment, area and location | Monthly membership or single session |
| LaserAway | 200+ locations (Oct 2026) | $99–$649 per treatment by area; prices may vary by location (read 2026-10-16) | Single sessions or packages of 3, 8 or 10 |
| Milan Laser | 400+ locations (Oct 2026) | Not published — personalized quotes; installment plans with APRs it says start from 0% | Package per area, with its "Unlimited Package" repeat-visit offer |
Independents are the other option, and they are numerous: AmSpa's 2024 industry survey estimated 10,488 US med spas in 2023, and 81% of them single-location businesses.
An independent med spa near you may offer the same laser services with different devices, different pricing and a provider you can vet in person — the checks in the next section apply to any of them.
We track the chains we have fact-checked on our all med spa chains page.

Before you contact Sev Skin, five things are worth having settled, most of them in writing.
- Confirm your studioSev Skin's own selector listed 77 US studios in 15 states on October 16, 2026 — 28 of them in California. Check the chain's live selector rather than an older list.
- Get the quote for your areaThe chain's published laser hair removal starting points are $29 a session and $15 a month, and it says prices vary by treatment, area and location. Ask what your area costs each way.
- Ask who will perform itThe chain says treatments are done by nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed estheticians and laser specialists. Ask which yours will be, and look the nurse's license up in Nursys QuickConfirm.
- Read the membership terms before signingWe could not confirm Sev Skin's commitment length, rollover or cancellation terms from its published pages. With no FTC click-to-cancel rule in effect (it was vacated in July 2025), your contract, state auto-renewal law and case-by-case FTC Act enforcement are what apply.
- Confirm the free first treatmentSev Skin advertises a free first treatment on select areas for clients new to a service. Ask which areas qualify at your studio.
For the treatment itself — how sessions work, what permanent hair reduction does and does not mean, and what the evidence says — start with our laser hair removal guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is SEV Laser the same as Sev Skin?
Yes.
The chain rebranded from SEV Laser to Sev Skin in 2026.
The company says Sevana Petrosian started it in 2010 as a laser hair removal practice inside a hair salon, and that the new name reflects a broader vision for aesthetic care.
Both names refer to the same company.
How much does SEV Laser cost?
Sev Skin's published starting prices (October 2026) are $29 for a single laser hair removal session and $15 a month for a membership, and the chain says prices vary by treatment, area and location.
It does not publish a per-area price table that we could verify, so ask your studio for a quote for the specific area you want treated.
Who performs treatments at SEV Laser?
The chain says its treatments are performed by nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed estheticians and laser specialists using FDA-cleared technologies.
Whether an esthetician or a "laser specialist" may perform your treatment depends on your state's rules.
You can verify a nurse's license through Nursys QuickConfirm before your appointment.
Does SEV Laser remove hair permanently?
Hair-removal lasers are 510(k)-cleared devices, and their cleared claim is permanent hair reduction — fewer hairs regrowing over the long term — not the removal of all hair.
Treatments reduce hair; they do not eliminate every hair, and any marketing promising complete, permanent removal is promising more than the device's cleared claim.
Is SEV Laser legit?
We cannot vouch for any chain, and our enforcement check — one combined FTC and state attorney-general search from October 16, 2026 — covered six other large chains, not Sev Skin.
What you can do: confirm staff credentials (Nursys for nurse licenses, CertificationMatters.org for physician certification), get prices and membership terms in writing, and read recent reviews for the specific studio.
