How We Rank Georgia Med Spas

We rank Georgia med spas by Google rating, weighted by how many people left one.

The statewide list only includes spas with at least 20 Google reviews, which 1,143 of the 1,772 Georgia listings have.

No spa pays to be listed or to rank higher.

Are med spas regulated in Georgia?

Yes. Georgia Medical Board rules define a medispa as a facility offering services such as laser procedures, IPL and filler and neurotoxin injections.

The Composite Medical Board licenses cosmetic laser practitioners, and the Georgia Board of Nursing has a position statement on cosmetic injections by nurses.

Who can do Botox in Georgia?

The Georgia Board of Nursing says registered nurses may inject Botox and fillers on a valid individualized order from a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant with prescriptive authority.

Licensed practical nurses may not perform cosmetic injections.

Licensed cosmetic laser practitioners may not give injections either.

Who can do laser hair removal in Georgia?

Georgia licenses cosmetic laser practitioners, including for hair removal, through the Composite Medical Board.

An assistant laser practitioner must be a licensed PA, LPN, nurse, esthetician or master cosmetologist with at least three Board-approved course certificates.

They work under the on-site supervision of a senior laser practitioner or a physician.

Med Spa Rules in Georgia

What Georgia law and its licensing boards say about who may do med spa treatments, each with its source. This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice.

  1. Georgia Medical Board rules define a medispa as a facility offering appearance services, including medical procedures such as laser procedures, IPL and injections of fillers and neurotoxins, in a nontraditional setting. [1]
  2. The Georgia Board of Nursing says registered nurses may inject neuromodulators and dermal fillers, such as Botox or Restylane, only on a valid individualized order from a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant with prescriptive authority. [2]
  3. The Georgia Board of Nursing says licensed practical nurses may not perform cosmetic injections, and no RN or LPN may make a medical diagnosis or develop a cosmetic treatment plan. [2]
  4. The Georgia Board of Nursing says a registered nurse may give a cosmetic injection only after a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant has performed a history and physical, and standing orders are not an acceptable substitute. [2]
  5. The Georgia Board of Nursing also requires on-site policies, emergency procedures and documented nurse competency for cosmetic injections, though its statement does not set an on-site supervision requirement. [2]
  6. The Georgia Composite Medical Board says a physician assistant works under a Board-approved supervising physician and job description, and the physician must be physically present for any task outside that job description. [3]
  7. Georgia licenses cosmetic laser practitioners through the Composite Medical Board, covering nonablative light-based skin care, photorejuvenation and hair removal with FDA-approved lasers or IPL devices. [4]
  8. In Georgia, an assistant laser practitioner works under the on-site supervision of a senior laser practitioner or a physician. [4]
  9. An assistant laser practitioner must hold a current license as a PA, LPN, nurse, esthetician or master cosmetologist and have at least three Board-approved laser or IPL course certificates. [5]
  10. A senior laser practitioner must be a PA or nurse with at least three years of clinical experience and works under a consulting physician's protocols. [5]
  11. The consulting physician for cosmetic laser services must be licensed in Georgia, practice in Georgia or within 50 miles of the facility, be trained in laser use, be available for emergencies and file protocols with the Board. [6]
  12. Georgia cosmetic laser practitioners may not give any drug or substance by injection and may not perform laser services within one inch of the eye socket. [7]
  13. The Georgia Composite Medical Board says nurses may give IV hydration, nutrients or medications only on an individualized order from a physician, NP or PA after a history and physical, including at drip bars and mobile clinics. [3]
  14. The Georgia Composite Medical Board says a nurse may not be the only licensed professional evaluating and treating a patient at an IV drip bar, and menu-based drips without individual evaluation are not allowed. [3]
  15. On June 4, 2026 the Georgia Composite Medical Board said its IV hydration statement did not create new law, did not tell practices to close and did not end active protocols. [8]
  16. The Georgia Composite Medical Board says a physician who delegates to a nurse practitioner must be available for immediate consultation, observe the NP on site at least once a year and review medical records every quarter. [3]
  17. The Georgia Composite Medical Board reads state law to bar any arrangement where a nurse practitioner pays for their delegating physician, including through collaborating physician matching companies. [3]
  18. You can check a physician, PA or cosmetic laser practitioner license on the Georgia Composite Medical Board's verification site at gateway.medicalboard.georgia.gov/verification/search.aspx. [9]
  19. Georgia RN and LPN licenses can be checked through Nursys QuickConfirm, but advanced practice nurse licenses cannot. [10]
