The Oklahoma Board of Nursing says RNs and LPNs may inject Botox and fillers on an individualized order from a physician, NP, PA or other prescriber, and a standing order is not an acceptable substitute.
An RN needs no prescriber on site if there is a valid individualized order and a completed history and physical, while LPNs must be supervised by an RN, physician or dentist.
The Medical Board says a physician using unlicensed trained assistants must be on the premises before, during and after the procedure.
