What published research says
These numbers come from outside sources, not our directory; each one links to its source below.
- KFF (Oct–Nov 2025): among adults who had used a GLP-1 but stopped, 14% said they stopped because of cost and 13% because of side effects (both shares are of all ever-users). [4]
- Among 288 randomly sampled Cleveland Clinic patients who stopped semaglutide or tirzepatide for obesity within the first year (2022–2024), 47.6% stopped because of cost or insurance, 14.6% because of side effects, 11.8% because of shortages, 2.4% to switch to a compounded drug, and 1.7% for unsatisfactory weight loss (Gasoyan et al., Obesity 2025). What these numbers can't tell you
- Counts are Google Maps listings we classify as med spas, so they include dermatology and plastic surgery practices that offer med spa treatments and exclude spas without a Google listing.
- A treatment counts when the spa's Google listing or website names it, so a spa with an outdated menu can be over- or under-counted.
- Ratings and review themes are Google's, as shown on each listing on the snapshot date; Google filters some reviews and does not publish how.
